Christ:
The Embodiment of Wisdom
1 Corinthians 1:30
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.
Daily Steps
To complete our understanding of the Source of Wisdom (Day 287), this verse reveals a profound truth: Wisdom is not merely a set of principles we acquire, but is personally embodied in Jesus Christ. For the believer, Christ Himself is the total spiritual understanding we need.
The peace in this principle is found in ultimate identity:
Our Position in Christ: The verse begins with the fundamental truth: of Him you are in Christ Jesus. Our identity (Day 207) and salvation are completely bound up in Christ (The Ultimate Love, Day 218). This secure union is the source of all spiritual benefits.
Christ as Our Wisdom: Jesus became for us wisdom from God. Since all true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord (Day 286), and Jesus perfectly obeyed the Father, He embodies the living definition of wisdom. To know Christ is to know wisdom; to follow Christ is to walk wisely.
The Full Spiritual Package: Christ did not just give us wisdom; He became for us an entire package of spiritual necessities: righteousness (Day 224), sanctification (holiness, Day 251), and redemption (salvation, Day 225). This assures the new believer that everything needed for a complete spiritual life is found exclusively in their relationship with Jesus.
Your peace is secured by ultimate identity. Embrace the Wisdom of God today by recognizing that Jesus Christ is your living Wisdom. Focus on knowing Him better, for in doing so, you automatically gain righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.
Reflective Question
If Christ is your wisdom, what specific decision or struggle are you facing right now that you need to approach by asking, "What would Christ (my wisdom) do?" How can centering your search for wisdom on Christ Jesus simplify your choices?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I confess my tendency to look for wisdom in the wrong places. I thank You that in Christ Jesus, I have been given everything I need. I praise You that He became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. Secure my peace today in this ultimate identity, and may my life reflect the perfect wisdom found only in my Lord and Savior. Amen.
