The Riches

of God's Grace

Ephesians 1:7

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

Daily Steps

For a new believer, understanding the depth of God’s forgiveness is essential for a stable identity. You might think your forgiveness is just enough to "get by," but this verse introduces a powerful concept: "the riches of God's grace."

Grace is God's favor and love given to you, completely undeserved. The word "riches" means there is an excessive, overflowing abundance of this grace. Your forgiveness is not measured out stingily, based on how sorry you feel or how well you promise to do next time. It is given in accordance with the riches of the King’s limitless treasury.

The peace in this truth is that your pardon can never be used up. No mistake—past, present, or future—can exceed the supply of the riches of God's grace. Your identity is rooted in this overflowing abundance, not in the meager measure of your own performance. Rest in the knowledge that you are pardoned with the King's own unlimited wealth.

Reflective Question

If you truly believed God's grace was a bottomless treasury, what is one feeling of self-condemnation you could let go of right now?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the riches of Your grace. Thank You for the overflowing supply of forgiveness that covers all my sins.

Help me to stop measuring my worth by my mistakes and to fully embrace the abundant pardon that comes from Your limitless love.

I find my peace and secure identity in Your boundless grace today. Amen.
