Reconciliation is
God’s Ministry
2 Corinthians 5:18
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation
Daily Steps
Finding peace in relationships is often overwhelming because we feel solely responsible for fixing them. This verse provides incredible relief and assurance for the new believer by reminding us that reconciliation is fundamentally God’s work, and we are His agents.
The peace in this truth comes from knowing:
The Source: "All this is from God." The very concept of bringing enemies back into harmony originated with God, who "reconciled us to himself through Christ." If God could reconcile Himself to humanity, He can heal any relationship on Earth.
Your Role: You have been given the "ministry of reconciliation." This means your job is not to manufacture peace, but to carry God's message and model His forgiveness. You are an agent of the Divine, equipped for this essential task.
Stop trying to shoulder the full burden of healing a broken relationship. Your peace is found in humbly accepting your role as a minister of reconciliation, trusting that the power to truly unite hearts belongs to God alone.
Reflective Question
If you truly view yourself as a minister of reconciliation, what is one relationship you need to approach with a new sense of divine authority and confidence today?
Prayer
Lord, I praise You for being the God who reconciles. Thank You for bringing me into harmony with Yourself through Christ. I accept the ministry of reconciliation You have given me.
Help me to act as Your faithful agent, bringing Your forgiveness and peace into my relationships today, and trusting Your power to heal where I cannot. Amen.
