How can I know God exists?

The Devotional Answer

This is the big question every curious heart asks! While faith is about trusting what we cannot fully see, the Bible says God has given us lots of evidence that He is real. We can look for proof in the world around us and inside ourselves.

The Simple Answer

You can know God exists by looking at the detailed creation He made, the sense of right and wrong He placed in your heart, and the historical reality of Jesus Christ.

The Deeper Dive: Three Ways God Shows Up

God has placed evidence everywhere, inviting us to look for Him:

  1. The World (The Design): Look at a flower, a star, or even the complexity of your own hand. Everything in the universe follows perfect rules (like gravity) and shows incredible design. A great building needs a great architect, and a complex universe needs a great Creator.

  2. The Heart (The Conscience): Every person, in every culture, knows deep down that things like murder and stealing are wrong. This "moral compass" or sense of justice is God putting a small piece of His own perfect nature into our hearts.

  3. The History (The Man, Jesus): The most powerful proof is Jesus Christ. He lived a life that was historically documented, He performed miracles, and He claimed to be God. His death and resurrection—the core of the Christian faith—cannot be explained away and changed the entire course of human history.

God’s Command

The Bible tells us that no one has an excuse for not believing in God, because His existence is so clearly stamped on creation:

"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."

Romans 1:20 (NIV)

Your Takeaway Thought

Faith is not a blind guess; it is a confident response to the evidence God has already provided. If you want to know Him, start talking to Him right now, and look for His hand in the beautiful, complicated world around you.
