While God is invisible spirit (John 4:24), the Christian relationship with Him is profoundly real and is based on spiritual presence, not physical sight. God communicates through the infallible authority of His Word (the Bible), and the believer responds through the spiritual discipline of prayer (talking to Him). This relationship is made intimate and personal by the Holy Spirit, who indwells the believer, confirming God's presence and guiding their heart. The ultimate source of certainty is faith (Hebrews 11:1), which anchors us in things unseen.

The Bible suggests a critical distinction: A true, born-again Christian cannot be possessed by a demon, as the Holy Spirit resides within them, making their body a temple (1 Corinthians 6:19). However, Christians can be subject to demonic oppression or influence—external attacks that tempt, discourage, harass, or deceive them. The Christian's defense is the authority of Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11).  

Recognizing God's will when life is confusing is less about finding a secret map and more about daily faithfulness. God's will is revealed primarily through Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16), affirmed by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14), and confirmed by wise counsel and circumstances. The greatest part of God's will is always that we live righteously and love Him with all our hearts (Micah 6:8).
