The Bible consistently warns against following one's own heart, declaring that the heart is “deceitful above all things, and desperately sick” (Jeremiah 17:9). For the Christian, the command is not to follow internal feelings, but to follow the objective truth of God's Word (Psalm 119:105) and the explicit commands of Jesus Christ. True guidance comes from the renewed mind led by the Holy Spirit, not the fallen, subjective desires of the self.  

Recognizing God's will when life is confusing is less about finding a secret map and more about daily faithfulness. God's will is revealed primarily through Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16), affirmed by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14), and confirmed by wise counsel and circumstances. The greatest part of God's will is always that we live righteously and love Him with all our hearts (Micah 6:8).

A Christian should not read horoscopes or consult Tarot cards. The Bible strictly condemns all forms of divination and sorcery as detestable to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10–12). These practices are forbidden because they challenge the sufficiency of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16) and show a lack of trust in God's guidance and provision (Proverbs 3:5). Believers are called to seek wisdom through prayer, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible (James 1:5).
