The biblical approach places the primary responsibility for comprehensive sex education, including moral and spiritual formation, squarely on parents (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). While schools may provide biological facts, the Christian view maintains that true sexuality education is discipleship—teaching children about God's good, holy design for sex within the confines of a lifelong, monogamous marriage (Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20), and guarding their hearts against worldly ideas of casual sex and gender confusion.

The Christian teaching is that sexual intimacy is reserved exclusively for the covenant of marriage, where two people become one flesh (Genesis 2:24). Engaging in sex before this commitment is considered sexual immorality (porneia) and is strongly warned against, as it separates the physical act from its foundational covenant, leading to potential spiritual and emotional harm. Believers are called to flee sexual immorality and practice self-control (1 Corinthians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5).

Is divorce permissible for a Christian? Jesus upheld the ideal of lifelong marriage but allowed for the exception of sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9). The Apostle Paul added the exception of desertion by an unbeliever (1 Corinthians 7:15).
