The Guarantee

of the Spirit

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Daily Steps

This ultimate Final Benediction and concluding truth summarizes your entire journey as a new believer: your security, anointing, and future are all divinely guaranteed. Every promise of peace (Day 355), power (Day 356), and eternal security (Day 297) is sealed by the presence of the Holy Spirit (Day 320), who is God's physical, internal deposit that guarantees all that is to come.

The peace in this principle is found in divine ownership:

  1. Divine Establishment: The process of your faith is not self-initiated; He who establishes us with you in Christ... is God. This confirms that your faith (Day 254) and standing are stable because God himself is the one holding you firm (guaranteed completion, Day 351).

  2. Divine Anointing and Sealing: God has anointed us (setting us apart for service, Day 326) and sealed us (marking us as His own, indicating divine ownership). In the ancient world, a seal guaranteed authenticity and security. Your identity is authenticated, and your inheritance (Day 312) is secured by this seal.

  3. The Guarantee of the Spirit: The most profound promise is the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee (or a down payment/deposit). This means that the Holy Spirit living within you is the first installment of your full, future redemption (Day 225) and your ultimate glory (Day 360). You have a piece of heaven living in you right now, assuring you that the rest is certain.

Your peace is secured by divine ownership. As you conclude this devotional journey, embrace this ultimate truth: you are established, anointed, and sealed by God. The Holy Spirit is your internal, tangible proof that you belong to Him and that He will finish the good work He started. Trust this final, certain guarantee today and forevermore.

Reflective Question

If the Holy Spirit in your heart is truly a guarantee of your complete salvation and future inheritance, how can you live more boldly today, free from the worry or doubt that you might lose your place with God?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I confess my struggles with doubt and my fears about my own ability to persevere. I thank You for the divine certainty that You have established us and sealed us. Above all, I praise You for giving me the Spirit in my heart as a guarantee of all that is to come. Secure my peace today in this divine ownership, and help me to live like someone who knows their place in Christ is eternally guaranteed. Amen.
