The Riches of

His Grace

Ephesians 1:7-8

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Daily Steps

When we talk about God's love, it's not just a nice feeling—it's a concrete, legal, and spiritual reality. This verse describes the magnitude of that love as "the riches of God's grace." Riches are excessive; they are more than enough to meet any need.

The focus here is that God's forgiveness for your sins and your redemption (being bought back and set free) are not measured out stingily, but are given in accordance with the riches of His grace. He has not given you a small amount of grace; He has lavished it on you.

This lavish grace is the only true source of peace in your identity. It means your worth isn't determined by how few mistakes you make, but by how rich God's grace is. You are not just tolerated; you are fully welcomed, pardoned, and set free with an abundance of love.

When self-condemnation whispers that you are unworthy, declare the riches of God's grace over your heart, and find rest in the abundance of His forgiveness.

Reflective Question

If you truly believed God's grace was a rich, bottomless treasury, what is one feeling of self-condemnation you could let go of right now? How does the lavishness of His forgiveness change your identity?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible riches of Your grace. I confess my sins and accept the full, abundant redemption You have provided through Christ's blood.

Help me to stop living under a cloud of self-condemnation and to fully embrace the lavish love and forgiveness that defines my new identity in You. Amen.
