Behold, I Am Making
Everything New
Revelation 21:5
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Daily Steps
The new believer needs a clear, certain vision of the final destination to find peace concerning the future. This verse provides the ultimate promise regarding our eternal environment, spoken by God Himself from the throne: I am making everything new!
The peace in this promise is found in God's creative power and faithfulness:
The Divine Declaration: The speaker is the one seated on the throne (The Lord Reigns, Day 189), emphasizing the absolute authority and power behind the statement. His declaration, "I am making everything new!" is a guarantee of a creative act that transforms the universe, assuring us that the final state will be one of perfection.
The Necessity of the New: This promise confirms that the ultimate solution to the brokenness of the current world—which includes sin (Day 177) and suffering (Day 194)—is not simple repair, but complete renewal. The final home will be free from the corrupting influence of the old.
The Guaranteed Certainty: God commands: "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." This command acts as a signature of authenticity. The unseen future (Day 205) is based not on hopeful guessing, but on the recorded, trustworthy and true promise of God. This certainty removes all anxiety about our final dwelling place.
Your peace in the future is secured by God's final promise. Rest in the trustworthy and true word of the Sovereign God that He is making everything new for your eternal home.
Reflective Question
If you truly believe that God is making everything new, what "old" or temporary part of your life (Day 204) are you still clinging to? How can you release that attachment today, trusting that God's new plan for you will be better by far (Day 186)?

Heavenly Father, I praise You, the one seated on the throne, for the glorious promise: I am making everything new! I thank You that these words are trustworthy and true.
I pray for the faith to detach from the temporary things of this world and to fix my hope on the New Heavens and New Earth. Secure my peace today in the certainty of Your perfect, final creation. Amen.
