The Christian life is not only anchored in the past certainty of peace with God (Day 174), but also propelled by a thrilling future certainty. This verse provides the new believer with the ultimate perspective that defeats temporary suffering: we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

The Nature of Hope: Christian hope is not wishful thinking; it is the absolute certainty of what God has promised. This hope is focused on "the glory of God"—the full, unhindered manifestation of His presence and perfection that we will share with Him in eternity.
The Attitude of Boasting: We are instructed to "boast" in this hope. To boast means to take proud satisfaction in something. We can confidently rejoice in our future, knowing that any present suffering (following verse, Romans 5:3) is temporary and trivial compared to the eternal reward awaiting us.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I confess my short-sightedness and my tendency to let temporary suffering overwhelm my present. I thank You for the certain, powerful hope of the glory of God. Help me to boast in this promise today, seeing every trial in light of Your eternal perfection. Secure my heart with this ultimate hope, allowing me to live with patience and tranquility. Amen.
