A Prayer for patience

A child wearing a ladybug helmet excitedly rides a bicycle on a cobblestone path, guided by an elderly man in a pink shirt. Lush green trees surround them.

Dear Heavenly Father,

In the moments when I feel impatient and frustrated, I turn my heart to you for help and strength.

Please give me the patience I need to handle difficult times with grace, and help me to see the value in waiting. Teach me to truly trust your timing, because I know your plans are perfect and so much greater than mine. Help me let go of wanting instant results and instead embrace the journey of growth you have me on.

Fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can show the fruit of patience—things like kindness, gentleness, and self-control—in all areas of my life. Help me to reflect your loving character to the people around me, especially when things get tense or difficult.

Guide me as I work to create a patient heart, one that is steady and firm even when facing trouble. Help me keep praying and waiting with expectation for your answers, knowing that you will always keep your promises.

Thank you, Father, for the amazing patience you show me, even when I mess up and forget to trust your timing. Help me learn from your example so I can give the same patience and grace to others.

In Jesus name, I pray.

Amen.
